I Approve This Message. Well Duhh

Do politicians listen to their own ads? It’s one thing when an ad sites facts, figures, and opinions in someone other than the candidate’s voice to have a tag with the candidate stating, “I approve this message”, but when you spend the entire ad, watching the candidate move his or her lips up and down, hearing words come out of their mouth, and presumably their brains, (although I might be over generous in that) I think I can make the leap of logic to say they approve what they’ve just said, in their own words, in their own voice.

  1. Hugh Betcha says:

It is as useless as the message on the Dr’s phone telling you to hang up and dial 9-1-1 if this is a medical emergency. Any fool knows that they would die before ever getting through to a doctor. Warning labels on products are another example of meaningless words. Do we really need to be told to “refrigerate after opening” perishable food products?

Or food that gives directions like, 1. Open package. 2. Microwave. 3. Enjoy. I need directions to enjoy it?
