Awesome New Nails!

Okay, I don’t like to blow my own horn all the time, but here goes. Thanks to a new polish product from China Glaze, (although I see Sally Hansen has the same thing or close to it) I’ve really gone above and beyond what I ever thought I’d get this side of a really expensive professional manicure.

Here’s all that is required to get these awesome looking nails.

I used a clear base coat, (always a good idea) and then neon yellow, neon orange, and deep red in bands from the nail bed out to the tip. No need to be too careful about this step thanks to the next. After the colors are dry, I used China Glaze’s Black Crackle over coat. Just brush it on medium thick and then don’t touch it for 4 or 5 minutes. It shrinks and pulls back off the color in a very cool random look that would take skill and talent to duplicate with just brush and polish, and if I had even tried it would have looked like “Texas Chainsaw Manicure”.

After it dries and has finished shrinking, use a good clear gloss top coat, and let that dry.

All I’ve tried so far is the black crackle, but it comes in white, gray, other colors, and even metallic shades.

Same technique, other colors.

Thanks for the acknowledgment, it makes me feel like a celebrity. 🙂 Right now I have white crackle over red and blue, sort of looks like bunting for the 9/11 memorial. I’m thinking of something for Halloween now… Orange and black I suppose, but I’m open to suggestions. My twitter is @DwightJenkins if you want to follow, but I really don’t use it much. FaceBook is when you get around to that one.

  4. Thanks for the details Dwight and also thanks for the twitter follow, I appreciate you using it to say hi this evening, especially since you would not usually use it!

The blue red and white nails sound fabulous for the memorial. I watched some of this on tv, it was very touching. I will keep you posted with halloween nail design ideas and suggestions!

Thanks a lot, glad you enjoy. Check back in a week or so, because I have a very cool idea for my Halloween nails this year… Of course all my ideas don’t always work, but I’m hopeful. 🙂
