Christmas Nails – The Saga Continues…

This is my 3rd set of nails since Thanksgiving Day, and probably my last until after Christmas unless some disaster such as a broken nail should happen.

I would like to dedicate this set to my UK friend, Rachel Edwards, of Glam Glam Nails, since she sent me the BarryM polish that I’ve used, plus I ‘borrowed’ her idea of a blending two colors gradually so that a line isn’t apparent between the two. I came up with the idea of alternating the colors, although I’m sure I’m not really the first. I propose we call them, Rachel’s Gold n’ Silver Glam Glam Nails. I hear a second. All in favor. The ayes have it, motion carried.

As to how I did it is fairly easy. First I painted every other nail with either silver or gold foil from BarryM and let it dry. Then I used the other color on the odd fingers and let that dry. Then using a makeup sponge wedge at an angle, I applied the opposite color to just about a third of the tip of each nail, giving it a blended gold to silver effect. Clear topcoat over all and I’m done.

Second guessing I think it might have looked better with the same color on each nail rather than alternating, but I’m not unhappy with my results.
